50 CCF cadets attend Remembrance parade at Park Street War Memorial

Senior School After School/EECA

On the anniversary of the 100 years of the signing of the Armastice that ended the Great War, 50 CCF  cadets attended the Remembrance parade, organised by the St Stephen’s Parish Council, at the Park Street War Memorial.

The senior cadets were led by RSM Timothy Binns, CSMs Sean Margossian and Alistair Bond with Sgt Theo Young (standard Bearer) who wore Regimental Number Two dress uniform for the first time at a public event.  Our wreath was laid by newly promoted Lance Corporal Alex Riley who achieved Highly Competent at a Non Commissioned Officer Cadre Held in October Half Term.

The event was supported by Under Officer Amy Ellis Jones, Sgt Sabio-Jimenez, Priscilla Meigh and School Staff Instructor Patrick Burns.

We paraded at the Park Street War Memorial, as Captain James Philippson, a former student who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2006
is honoured here with a plaque for his service.

The Contingent provided a War Memorial guard, made up of Form 3 students who recently joined the CCF, and the remainder marched in the parade.  As the School Staff Instructor, I am extremely proud of how the CCF is evolving and providing a great Cadet experience and representing the College at these important and significant local events.
