St Columba's College

St Columba’s College has been a school in the tradition of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart (New England Province) since 1955 and is a Roman Catholic, selective boys’ school, but with about half of its pupils coming from other denominations and faiths. Brothers and lay teachers (now in the majority) work together with pupils and parents to provide a Christian education based on traditional values, balancing a friendly community with sound discipline and academic rigour.

The College and its Preparatory Department stand in their own grounds overlooking the picturesque vale of St Albans and the Roman settlement of Verulamium. In the last few years extensive improvements have been made to Science, English and Drama, Sixth Form, Preparatory and Pre-Preparatory facilities.

The College motto is ‘cor ad cor loquitur’ which translates as ‘heart speaks unto heart
