Social events organised by both the College and the active Parents’ Associations facilitate constructive relationships with parents. ISI Report, January 2015
St Columba’s College has a strong sense of community and the Prep Parents’ Association (PPA) benefits from and builds on this. The PPA belongs to all the parents in the Prep School and is always open to ideas and suggestions.
Our role is overwhelmingly social and involves organising events for everyone to enjoy, ranging from the Welcome BBQ and the annual Christmas Ball, to informal coffee mornings and Popcorn Film Nights.
While we aim to break even at most of our social events, some involve a fundraising element, in which the boys can participate. These include the Sponsored Bounce, Seed Fund Challenge and Charity Fun Run. The money raised by these events goes towards purchasing additional items for the Prep School, which enhance the educational environment and can be enjoyed by the boys.
There are many ways to become involved in the PPA. You can attend the termly committee meetings or volunteer at events, perhaps by making cakes, helping to set up, serving refreshments or tidying up. For regular announcements, please keep an eye on the noticeboard at the back of the Prep School or the latest PPA Newsletter on the website. If you would like to help, please get in touch or contact your Class Rep. Please click here to view the full list of Class Reps.
